Karikatura, gjatë regjimit komunist, ka qenë një nga mjetet me të cilat synohej të mbruhej, ndër të tjera, imagjinata kolektive për të ashtuquajturin Armik të jashtëm. Në këtë ekspozitë janë paraqitur kronologjikisht përfytyrimet zyrtare të tij, nëpërmjet karikaturave të revistës politiko-humoristike Hosteni përgjatë viteve 1945-1990.
Vendet zyrtarisht mike të Shqipërisë pakësoheshin kohë mbas kohe duke u shndërruar menjëherë në vende armike.
Mund të shihet se, në këtë proces, çdo vend i saposhpallur armik identifikohet me armikun paraardhës në radhë.
Kështu, mbas çlirimit të Shqipërisë nga pushtuesit nazistë dhe me instalimin e diktaturës, anglo-amerikanët, aleatë të deridjeshëm në luftën kundër nazistëve, identifikohen me këta të fundit; më pas, jugosllavët shpallen tradhtarë dhe identifikohen me amerikanët dhe rrjedhimisht me nazizmin; e po kështu, më vonë, shpallen tradhtarë sovjetikët, që identifikohen me jugosllavët dhe rrjedhimisht me të gjithë armiqtë paraardhës në radhë; pastaj e njëjta gjë me kinezët…
Një proces që solli, hap pas hapi, vetë-izolimin total të vendit.
Caricature, during the communist regime, was one of the tools used to shape, among other things, the collective imagination of the so-called external enemy. This exhibition presents, in chronological order, the official representations of that enemy through the caricatures published in the political-satirical magazine Hosteni from 1945 to 1990.
The countries officially considered Albania’s allies were gradually reduced over time, turning immediately into enemy states.
It can be seen that, in this process, every newly declared enemy country was identified with its immediate predecessor.
Thus, after Albania’s liberation from the Nazi occupiers and with the establishment of the dictatorship, the Anglo-Americans — who had been wartime allies in the fight against Nazism — were equated with the Nazis themselves; later, the Yugoslavs were declared traitors and identified with the Americans, and thus with Nazism; likewise, later on, the Soviets were declared traitors too, identified with the Yugoslavs and therefore with all previous enemies in succession; and then the same thing happened with the Chinese…
A process that step by step led to the country’s total self-isolation.
